Research from recruitment firm
CareerBuilder along with Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI)
that provides employment data and economic analysis, have listed the hottest in-demand
jobs.
The list comprises occupations
where the number of job ads companies post each month outpace the number of
people they actually hire.
The list includes other data
points, such as job growth that indicate these well-paying occupations have seen
healthy growth and demand in this year.
Eight of these 19 jobs for
2016 are engineering, software, web app development and IT-related positions,
whereas six are in healthcare, two in finance-related fields and two are in marketing
and sales.
“While many of these jobs are
in the technology and health care sectors, there are also plenty of
opportunities in areas such as marketing, sales and transportation.
“The availability of jobs
across industries underscores the need for companies to evaluate where their
talent deficits are and become more strategic about how they fill these
needs–whether that means reskilling their current workers, offering higher
salaries to attract workers, or using data analytics to target talent with the
right skills,” said Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder and co-author of The
Talent Equation.
Among occupations that require
a college education and have the largest gap between job openings and hires are
the following:
- Registered Nurses
- Software Developers, Applications
- Marketing Managers
- Sales Managers
- Medical and Health Services Managers
- Network and Computer Systems Administrators
- Industrial Engineers
- Computer Systems Analysts
- Web Developers
- Financial Managers
- Physical Therapists
- Pharmacists
- Accountants and Auditors
