The UAE healthcare sector is witnessing more
investment and job opportunities, according to a UAE healthcare provider. Thumbay
Group is building six new hospitals and 12 clinics in UAE
Thumbay Moideen, Founder President, Thumbay
Group of Companies, said he is planning to open hospitals and clinics in
different parts of the UAE and outside – an investment worth Dh1.2 billion.
Moideen told the number of staff in his group
is expected to increase from the current about 4,000 employees to about 15,000
by 2021. The group’s expansion plans will create more than 10,000 job
opportunities by 2021, he added.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Director, Healthcare and
Retail Division, Thumbay Group, said the group currently runs four hospitals
and is building six new hospitals and 12 clinics in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt,
India and other countries.
Thumbay Group is investing Dh1.2 billion in
expanding its network of healthcare institutions – hospitals, medical
universities, clinics and pharmacies – to help meet the demand that will see
the development of 420 new establishments in the next four years, Akbar said.
The UAE healthcare sector is poised to grow at
12.1 per cent per year from an estimated $40.3 billion in 2015 to $71.3 billion
in 2020, he said quoting recent reports
